Primitive Club

A Primitive Club is an extremely slow but powerful melee weapon that has a chance to inflict enemies with the Stunned effected every hit. It is most useful for running away from powerful enemies.

Crafting

Despite being a powerful weapon, Primitive Clubs are quite easy to craft.

Cycads are found almost everywhere in the Primordial Caves and Heavy Bones are a guaranteed drop from a large dinosaur.

The durability of the two primitive clubs is added together, plus an extra 5% durability.

Primitive Clubs may also be repaired on an anvil by using Heavy Bones or another Primitive Club. Grindstones may also be used in place of anvils, but Primitive Clubs will only be able to be repaired with another Primitive Club.

Usage

Attacking

Pressing left-click while holding a Primitive Club will deal 9♥♥♥♥♥ damage to mobs and other players only if its attack cooldown of 0.25 (equating to a cooldown of 4 seconds per attack) is finished. The hit entity also has an 80% chance to be inflicted with 7.5 to 15 seconds of the Stunned effect, rendering them unable to move or attack while affected. Primitive Clubs lose 1 durability each time they hit a mob or player.

Unlike all other weapons, when a Primitive Club is used before it's attack cooldown is finished, it will simply reset the cooldown and deal no damage.

Tremorsaurus

As Primitive Clubs are the only source of inflicting the Stunned effect on mobs or players, one is needed to tame a Tremorsaurus due to the fact that they need to be stunned to even have a chance of becoming tamed.

Enchantments

All weapons and tools added by Alex's Caves have unique enchantments that exclusively only apply for them. Unlike regular enchantments, these ones by default (without changing config settings) do not increase the pool of enchantments you can receive from any loot tables, and instead can only be obtained from enchanting the exclusive item they apply to in an Enchanting Table.

The Primitive Club has three exclusive enchantments.

Swiftwood

Rare enchantment that increases the attack speed of the Primitive Club by 0.15 per level. Has levels from I-III.

Bonking

Very rare enchantment that gives the Primitive Club a 66% chance to drop a Skeleton Skull, Wither Skeleton Skull, Zombie Head, Creeper Head, or Piglin Head when used to kill the corresponding mob. Does not have any higher level besides I.

Dazing Sweep

Rare enchantment that gives the Primitive Club the ability to deal 1♥ AOE damage and stun any mobs in a 1.2 block radius for 4 to 8 seconds, with the size of the radius increasing by 1 block per level. Has levels from I-II.

Trivia

  • The mobs you can get a head from by killing with a Primitive Club enchanted with Bonking are the same mobs which drop a head after being exploded by a charged creeper.
    • This is due to how the technical workings of the Bonking enchantment are coded. The enchantment works by manipulating the game into thinking the killed mob has just died from a charged creeper's explosion rather than from a player's attack, hence dropping a head.
  • The Law of Club and Fang advancement you get from obtaining a Primitive Club is a reference to the TV series Primal, where the main protagonists' names are Spear and Fang.
