The Gazing Pearl is a mysterious and rare item that constantly shows your reputation with the Deep Ones.

A Gazing Pearl can be obtained from bartering with a regular Deep One, which has a 4.02% chance to place it on an Abyssal Altar in exchange for a Pearl or a Heart of the Sea.

Usage

Reputation

The Gazing Pearl will change its color and cryptic message displayed in its item tooltip depending on the reputation between the Deep Ones and the player who has the pearl. If a Gazing Pearl has never been held by a player before, it will constantly change and shift through the colors of the rainbow.

Below are the colors and messages the Gazing Pearl will display depending on the player's reputation with the Deep Ones:

Stalking

The Gazing Pearl will wane between a cerulean blue to a bright teal. The message it will display is: "The gleam of the pearl wanes cautiously..."

Aggression

The Gazing Pearl will glisten various colors depending on how much healing needs to be done on your reputation for the Deep Ones to be cautious around you. The message it will display is: "The pearl glistens with malevolence..."

• If the pearl glistens between a cerulean blue to a dark rich blue, not much healing needs to be done to your reputation.
• If the pearl glistens between a cool purple to a magenta tone, some healing needs to be done to your reputation.
• If the pearl glistens between a neon pink to a vibrant red, much healing needs to be done to your reputation.

Neutrality

The Gazing Pearl will reflect between a bright teal to an emerald green. The message it will display is: "The pearl reflects a neutral light..."

Helpfulness

The Gazing Pearl will glisten various colors depending on how highly the Deep Ones think of you. The message it will display is: "The pearl beams with a joyous shine..."

• If the pearl beams between an emerald green to a greenish yellow, it will be easy for you to lower your reputation with the Deep Ones back down.
• If the pearl beams between a greenish yellow to a warm orange, it will take some effort for you to lower your reputation with the Deep Ones back down.
• If the pearl beams between a warm orange to a vibrant red, it will take much effort for you to lower your reputation with the Deep Ones back down.

Crafting ingredient

If for some reason no longer wanting a Gazing Pearl, it can be combined with Marine Snow to be turned into a regular Pearl.
