A Hero Pottery Sherd is a pottery sherd that depicts the emblem of the hypothetical Deep One Hero, an extremely strong variant of Deep One now lost to time. Unlike most other pottery sherds, brushing suspicious sand or suspicious gravel is not necessary to find this sherd.

Breaking
Breaking a decorated pot will drop all bricks and pottery sherds used to craft it, meaning it will drop a hero pottery sherd if one was used to craft it.
Chest loot
Abyssal Ruins occasionally generating within the Abyssal Chasm have loot chests with a 2.7% chance to contain Hero Pottery Sherds.

Trivia
- The Deep One Hero is a lore exclusive variant of Deep One which has only received concept art and is never intended to be fully added to Alex's Caves.
- The Deep One Hero has been conceptualized to resemble a huge crab-like creature, with a huge humanoid body shape and stature, four thick, spindley crab-like legs, two massive claws in place of hands, and two thin antennae on a small head that hold up its eyes.
- From a lore standpoint, it is unconfirmed on why the Deep One Hero has been lost to time or even if the Deep One Hero has ever truly existed.
- Also from a lore standpoint, it is believed that the Deep One Hero was treated as the leader of the Deep One race, and was the one responsible for uniting all Deep Ones into one race.
- Apart from the Hero Pottery Sherd being a reference to the Deep One Hero, the emblem of the Deep One Hero can also be founding lining the body and arms of a Deep One Knight.
