Whalefalls are frequently spawning features that are skeletons on the ocean floor covered in boneworms.

Generation

Whalefalls can only spawn in the Abyssal Chasm. They spawn in open areas and only if the floor is covered in Muck.

Structure

There are technically 48 possible variants of Whalefall, as the feature is split into three different templates. Being whalefall_skull_0-2, whalefall_body_0-3, and whalefall_tail_0-3. The Whalefall has a collection of bone blocks to formulate the whale skeleton.

Trivia

The whalefall is the only source of bone worms, which are generated on the bones.

Whalefalls are a real-life event, caused by a whale corpse falling to the ocean floor.
