Beholder
A Beholder is a block that allows players to see through it using an Occult Gem.
Obtaining
A Beholder must be crafted using Thornwood Branches and an Occult Gem.

Usage
Beholders must be placed in the world before anything can be done with them. When placed in the world, they begin to emit strange sounds.
Right clicking a Beholder with an Occult Gem links the Gem to the Beholder, causing it to gain a magenta shimmer and display the Beholder's coordinates in its tooltip. From there, right-clicking while holding the linked Gem allows you to see through the Beholder. When seeing through the Beholder, the screen has an orange overlay placed over it, and the camera can be panned in all directions. Pressing Left Shift exits the Beholder's view.
A linked Occult Gem is still usable in crafting, and can be unlinked by destroying the Beholder it's linked to.
A Beholder cannot be seen through if the player is in another dimension, but it can be seen through if the chunk containing it is unloaded. The latter situation may cause mobs to not appear.
