Gummy Bear
Gummy Bears are common neutral mobs found in the Candy Cavity. They prey on Sweetish Fish, and can produce Jelly Beans after hibernating for some time when fed a potion.
Cave Compendium Entry
"Gummy Bears are animals made entirely of gelatin. These squishy bears are often found near Purple Soda rivers and bottles, hoping to scoop up a Sweetish Fish in the matching gelatin color. Although neutral towards other creatures, Gummy Bears will fiercely defend any babies near them. If a Gummy Bear is fed any kind of potion, it will begin to enter Hibernation mode. This means that the bear will fall asleep for a period of time up to several days. Once the bear awakens, it will seek out the nearest Licoroot to scratch its back against. This will dislodge several Jelly Beans from the hide of the beast. These Jelly Beans will all have the same effects and duration of the potion fed to the Gummy Bear days prior when eaten. Gummy Bears can be bred with the Sweetish Fish that corresponds to their color. They drop Gelatin on death."

Behavior
When idle, Gummy Bears will aimlessly wander around, avoiding drops of more than 3 blocks.
Gummy Bears will seek out any Sweetish Fish within a 16-block radius. Once they get within 5 blocks of a Sweetish Fish, they will crouch down for 0.75 seconds before lunging towards it - upon successfully lunging into one, they will grab it in their paws before sitting down to bite at it, killing it in a minimum of 4 bites. A Gummy Bear will only prey on Sweetish Fish of the same color, leaving all other colors alone.
Gummy Bears will follow any player that holds out a potion within a 6-block radius.
Gummy Bears will retaliate against players or mobs that hit them, remaining hostile until their target dies or exits their detection range. Upon reaching a target, a Gummy Bear will swipe at a target with both of its paws, dealing 4![]()
damage with each swipe - it will often stand on its hind legs to attack, but can also do so while on all fours. Baby Gummy Bears will not retaliate against attackers, only panicking for a short time when provoked - however, any adult Gummy Bears within 16 blocks of a baby Gummy Bear will attack players without provocation.
As creatures of candy, Gummy Bears are able to fall on Sugar Glass without breaking it.
Hibernating
If fed a potion, a Gummy Bear will enter a state of hibernation for a minimum of 2 in-game days, with the bottle being returned to the player empty; in addition to this, its insides will turn red, green, or blue, depending on the color of the potion it was fed. Once that duration of time passes, it will wake up and start seeking out any Licoroot within a 6-block radius. Upon reaching a Licoroot, it will stand on its hind legs and turn its back towards the Licoroot before rubbing its back on it for 4.5 seconds, leaving 2-5 Jelly Beans that, when eaten, bestow the corresponding potion effect - afterwards, its insides will turn back to normal.
Breeding
Two Gummy Bears of the same color can be bred with Sweetish Fish of that corresponding color, creating a cub. It is recommended to get as far away from the Gummy Bears as possible once they enter love mode, as they will immediately turn hostile once they produce the cub. After breeding once, a Gummy Bear will be unable to breed again for 5 minutes.
Easter Eggs
Dancing
Gummy Bears will dance if they are within 5 blocks of a jukebox playing music - they will continue to dance as long as the music disc remains in the jukebox and the music is still ongoing. While dancing, they will stay in place, seemingly not reacting to players or other mobs - however, they will still attack targets that approach them if provoked.
November 13
On November 13, Gummy Bears will gain bouncier animations, to the point where they will hop forward to move instead of walking. This is a reference to the virtual music artist Gummibär and his debut album "I Am Your Gummy Bear", which released on November 13, 2007.

Trivia
- Gummy Bears were one of the first mobs revealed for the Candy Cavity in the form of concept art, but were the seventh to be coded in.
- At one point during their concept phase, they were planned to be infected by Licoroot, giving them a creepier appearance. For unknown reasons, this was later scrapped.
- Gummy Bears are classified as "cave creatures" - they are functionally very similar to creatures, but can only spawn underground.
- Due to code left over from testing, Gummy Bears attack Husks on sight.
